The Broken Link Award - In response to the number of sites that were nominated for the Evil Squirrel Twin Award because of the bad things they do, we developed this award.  Given to the socially irresponsible, we find the "winners" so contemptible that we won't even provide a link to them.  Provided as a public service, to let others know to avoid these and similar sites.

PURPOSE:

The Broken Link Award is given to a site that acts in a socially irresponsible manner.  While we favor freedom of speech, we believe that it must be tempered by individual and corporate responsibility.  Where this is lacking, we believe it is appropriate to offer the site a Broken Link Award.

CRITERIA/SCORING:

Where our other awards do not consider sites of certain types, this award is available just for them.  These include

  • Sites that contains pornography, hate, political propaganda, or violence.

  • Sites that promote SPAM, UCE or bulk mail services, Warez or password sites.

  • Sites that are involved with pyramid schemes or any activity that is illegal.

  • Sites that blatantly and unashamedly mislead people

  • We reserve the right to accept or reject a site for any reason.

We evaluate and award points to sites based on the following:

CONTENT (100 Points)

All that matters to us is that the site is doing something to harm others in some way.

A web site with a point score of 80 or higher will receive the award.  Nominate a Site Now.
